Editorial: "much ado about nothing", to quote Shakespeare

Editorial:

How much noise that is made for a device. For a smartphone. For a cell phone! It is really funny to see people's reactions to certain news. An example of this: the next Nexus will be produced by LG. Catastrophe! For many, the fact that LG to produce the official Google device and a disaster, heresy, murder. A heinous crime. Obviously not so.

Being "on the other side of the blog," or to manage it and having to write from a privileged view of things. Often indeed to read the comments on the blog, on Facebook or other social networks and see interesting things. In the latter period, however, I am constantly reminded of the title of the famous work of Shakespeare, "much ado about nothing" – or "much ado about nothing", if we are to remain faithful to the original language.

You have read comments of all kinds: from "I do not like LG" (which is a personal opinion more or less acceptable), and "not never'll buy a Nexus LG" (say a little 'too but still acceptable), up to excesses such as "if the LG Nexus will not be updated" and absurd statements on this line. Samsung fans, then, proved to be the most aggressive in denigrating LG and complain that the next Nexus will be LG. The question at this point, and it makes sense to everything?

The answer of course and no. Fears about the updates are obviously unfounded, as well as most of the other fears. If Google chose LG to produce his Nexus and because the company is koreana and demonstrated to meet the requirements. If it were not so I would never be able to rely on her to produce what and presumably the only smartphone in its brand? Of course not. If, therefore, we trust Google as far as the OS, why should not we do it for the hardware? After all, the smartphone, and produced by LG, but designed with the collaboration of Google and has to meet particularly stringent quality. We already saw with Samsung, and in fact the Galaxy Nexus has been relatively successful.

Fears that the Nexus LG is worse than those of Samsung are basically due to three reasons: the first and the behavior of LG with its users who, in turn, do not want more of its products, and the second to search priori aversion that has been created for all users to LG, the third and aversion of users of other brands with high fidelity (Samsung, for example) to the other companies. All these reasons are, in fact, unnecessary.

I do not want to settle and defend at all costs because LG and under the eyes of all the ineptitude with which he has dealt with some issues (who said "updates"?). This does not mean, however, that LG products are excellent. Optimus 4X HD and a device able to compete with more expensive winning smartphone well under many points of view. The same thing can be said for many other devices. As for hardware LG has been a few times subject to criticism, even if some do not appreciate the use of plastics (also used by Samsung, by the way!). The only concern that proper and reasonable to pose on the hardware, however: the software and in fact entrusted only to Google and Google takes care of, so there is no fear for imaginary updating delays or amenity of the genre.

This Nexus will in all probability the best ever (and technological progress and logic help in making this statement). Discuss these in terms of a product not yet announced it, then, very little sense. The best thing to do and wait for the Google ads next Monday – and then of course we'll read the review as soon as we have on our hands.

But why I said "probably the only smartphone" before? Doubt that the Nexus LG is not the only one still alive. Samsung, HTC and Sony have yet to produce other candidates who will join Nexus to LG, although presumably with a minor role. This piece still has not gone right, if we are fairly certain that LG will present a Nexus on Monday, we are not at all certain that other manufacturers will follow suit.

Basically, the point is this: a priori and useless to oppose a nexus by LG based on what he did during this period and the lack of product updates: Nexus 4 will be probably the only smartphone LG updated constantly, so it would be to reward just for this …
