Google Italy responds to an open letter about the Nexus 4

Google Italy responds to an open letter about the Nexus 4

LG or Google, little changes, it seems that the Nexus 4 (as well as the Nexus 10) in Italy will not come. For a time there was the possibility of being able to buy a top of the range at a very affordable price, we are denied.

Why? In recent days, we have tried to live assumptions on assumptions but still not there and given to know why Google does not want to open the Play Devices Italian or afford to buy in a simple way (here's our guide to buying in the only way possible) by Foreign Devices Play Store this blessed new Nexus.

Many have definitely thought like us and have tried to write a few emails Google Italy writing a clear open letter and, strangely, even receiving a response sterile and almost indifferent.

Below we present both the letter and the response:

Good evening,

I decided to write about the story of the failure to marketing the Nexus 4 in Italy by LG Italy. In order to clearly frame the situation should be stated that the Nexus 4 device and currently the so-called "flagship" of the house Google, or what brand and associated with the "Nexus" deployed and managed directly by Google and the Android operating system which is also distributed by Google .

And now notorious as the whole affair has been handled by both LG and Google. The device and currently only distributed on Play Store Google but very little with them the availability and delivery times ranging from 5 to 7 weeks. Even when they get these new stocks are exhausted in a very short time (a matter of hours).

LG has officially announced that Italy does not intend to distribute the device in Italy but without providing any explanation. Google, for its part, has shown no interest in the whole affair. I think the main concern should be just Google because it will undermine the credibility of brand "Nexus" and the spread of the Android operating system.

Speaking from my own personal experience, which I think might reflect that of other technology enthusiasts, I bought the Nexus 7 according to its technical features and the certainty that this device will receive updates to the operating system will be released soon. I also sold the iPhone 4S waiting to buy the Nexus 4 for the same reasons. I want to emphasize that I associate the Nexus line directly to the Android operating system, as these devices are the first to get all available updates.

I think Google can not afford to gloss over distribution Nexus 4 of the whole Italian territory and should make public its position.

Beyond the poor choice of a manufacturer which is shown and LG (see lack of availability of the product and handling the marketing) We must be heard and find alternatives. Definitely will not be able to force LG Italy to market the product but could allow for the purchase of the Nexus 4 from one of the Play Store available in Europe from Italy or entrust the distribution in Italy to Amazon Italy or another large chain online.

I hope you can turn this account to my Google Italy to do some 'clarity about the fate that awaits us.

Thanks and greetings to all the techno employees,
Tony Di Bernardo

Google's response:

We are working hard to extend the opportunity to buy devices on Google Play in as many countries but at the moment we have nothing to announce. As with the previous Nexus devices, in countries where it is not possible to buy the devices through Google Play are our partners to define the price and distribution of devices.

I do not think there's anything else to add, just a personal note about this story. Open the Devices Play Store in a new country and certainly not something that can be done in a few minutes, maybe the site, but the organization behind it definitely needs time to coordinate in the best way. I assume that the choice of Google not speed up is due to the fact that if something went wrong then the users would have written "if you are not able to handle it did not have to open." See abroad.
